Kate Mercer

Kate Mercer

Co-Founder, Coach, Facilitator & Trainer

After thirty years of watching brilliant founders wear themselves out trying to do it all, I’ve found my mission: helping businesses grow without burning out their leaders.

I work on the messy, human side of scaling – the part that decides whether everything else works or not. I’ve helped many scale-ups move from “the founder does everything” to “we’re in this together”, creating clarity about roles, aligning teams, and building structures that actually work.

My aim is simple: get everyone clear on who does what, when and how – and spread accountability from the top outwards. Whether it’s a brand-new team or an established one in need of a reset, I help them turn potential into performance, building cultures where accountability and inspiration go hand in hand.

Gil Hilleard

Gil Hilleard

Senior Consultant & Conflict Resolution Specialist

More about Gil Hilleard

Gil spent over two decades in large multinationals before realising that the best organisations don’t avoid conflict – they use it to fuel collaboration.

Since starting his own consultancy in 1987, he’s become the person leaders call when teams are stuck, cultures clash, or change efforts grind to a halt. He’s worked across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Far East, bringing together diverse teams to find common ground and move forward.

A former leader of Be the Change in Business and founding partner of Shine Consulting, Gil blends cultural intelligence with practical change management.

Away from the boardroom, he leads a bereavement counselling group and has spent ten years running a monthly conversation circle in his village – proof that his skill in creating safe, open spaces works in any setting.

Rob Rave

Rob Rave

Founder of Gamechanger Performance, Executive Coach

More about Rob Rave

Rob started out coaching athletes, then spotted something interesting – high-performing professionals face many of the same mental challenges as elite sportspeople, just in boardrooms instead of on the court.

Creator of the FLIP™ method and former Head of Teaming UK at EY, Rob works with analytical, technical leaders who want to multiply their impact without burning out. Entrepreneurs, finance leaders, legal experts – his clients often see breakthroughs within six sessions.

At EY, he coached partners towards sustainable high performance, combining strategic thinking with psychological resilience.

Away from coaching, Rob commissions and produces films – a mix of creative vision, fundraising, and stakeholder wrangling that’s not so different from his coaching philosophy: helping talented people bring their best work to life.

More about Amanda Baines

Amanda co-founded Leaders Lab with Kate, bringing deep expertise in business consultancy, executive coaching, and her specialist area: succession planning.

Outside work, Amanda sings with her local choir and joins the annual mass performance of Messiah at the Albert Hall – a reminder that excellence comes when individual talents work in harmony. She also volunteers as a dog walker, a role that neatly combines her love of dogs with a practical way to help others.

Rachel White

Rachel White

E-Commerce Manager & Marketing Support

More about Rachel White

Rachel has been part of the team for over a decade, quietly keeping our marketing sharp, consistent and spot-on. She just “gets” our business – its voice, its values, and what we’re trying to say – and writes as if she’s been here since day one.

She works to a standard that means you never have to ask twice, adding value in ways that go well beyond the brief.

Alongside her work with us, Rachel spends a couple of days a week in a local bookshop, indulging her love of stories and language. That curiosity shows in everything she writes, whether it’s a business blog or a book review.
